Welcome Expedia Customers to Kyte!

We're thrilled you've booked your Kyte rental through Expedia. Here's a quick overview of how Kyte works, especially for those new to our service:

What makes Kyte different?

Kyte offers the convenience of a traditional rental car, but without the hassle of visiting a rental counter. Instead, our friendly "Surfers" deliver your car to you and pick it up when you're done.

Important Note about Expedia Bookings: When you book through Expedia, your Kyte rental will be ready for pick-up at our designated lot. If you'd prefer to have your car delivered or picked up at a different location, you can request this through the Kyte app or website. Please note that a delivery fee and other relevant fees will apply, and you can view the cost before confirming your change.

Mandatory steps before your trip:

For bookings made through third-party platforms like Expedia, it is required to follow these mandatory steps before your trip begins to avoid automatic rescheduling or cancellation:

  1. Setup your account:

    • When you book with Kyte for the first time, you will receive an SMS with a link to reset your password.

    • Didn’t Receive the SMS or Link Isn’t Working?

  2. Download the Kyte App: Available for iOS or Android.

  3. Enter Payment Information: In the app, open your trip details and follow the prompt to securely enter your card information. A security deposit amount will be authorized on your card 24 hours before your trip to cover any incidental charges: $300 for credit cards or $500 for debit cards. Amount is typically released 4 days after trip completion.

  4. Verify your driver's license: Follow the in-app instructions to take clear pictures of the front and back of your driver's license.

Deadline: Complete this step at least 2 hours before your scheduled pickup or delivery time, or your trip can be automatically rescheduled or cancelled.

Use the Kyte app (available on iOS or Android) to:

  • Verify your license

  • Change your trip details (dates, address, etc.)

  • Cancel your trip

  • Add additional drivers

Please be advised that any modifications to your trip that result in a refund (such as cancellations or shortened travel dates) must be processed directly through Expedia.

Does Kyte operate at airports?

Kyte operates without physical rental counters, so airport rentals are a bit different:

  1. Designated Handover Spot: Each airport we serve has a designated off-airport location for car pickup and drop-off.

  2. Transportation to Handover Spot: Kyte may offer transportation to the handover spot in select locations. Check your booking confirmation email for details.

  3. Booking Times: Be sure to schedule your delivery and return with ample time between your flight arrival and departure. Check the airport FAQ page for recommended buffer times.
