To rent a car with Kyte, there are a few requirements you'll need to meet:

Age

  • 21+ Years Old: In most states, you must be at least 21 years old to rent.

  • 18+ Years Old: In New York state, you can rent if you're 18 or older.

  • Young Renter Fee: All drivers under 25 will be charged an additional fee. Learn more: Young Renter Fee

Driver's License

  • Valid License: You need a valid driver's license that will remain valid throughout your entire rental period.

  • International Licenses: We accept a variety of international licenses. See the full list here: Accepted Driver's Licenses by Country

Financial Criteria

  • Valid Payment Card: You'll need a credit or debit card in your name.

  • No Excessive Liens or Judgments: We'll check for any financial issues that might affect your eligibility.

  • No Recent Bankruptcy: You shouldn't have filed for bankruptcy within the last three years.

  • Payment Authentication: Your payment method must pass our third-party authentication process.

Driving Record

  • No Major Violations: You shouldn't have any DUIs, reckless driving charges, or similar violations within the last seven years.

  • No Criminal Charges: No vehicle-related or fraud charges, vehicle theft, or any serious criminal offenses in the past seven years.

  • No Recent Moving Violations: This includes speeding tickets and traffic violations within the last seven years.

  • No Vehicle Theft or Criminal Activity: Your driving history should be clean of any theft or crime-related incidents.

Previous Kyte Customers

  • Good Standing: Returning customers must have no outstanding balances or incidents on past Kyte trips.

Important Notes:

  • Kyte reserves the right to revoke your account and eligibility at any time.

  • You'll receive a refund for any reservations if you don't meet the requirements.
